Every time I hear “Paul said—” I lose one brain cell and gain one demon.
We’ve built cathedrals on the footnotes of a man who never walked with Jesus, while the women who actually funded, followed, and preached beside him got footnotes in our Sunday school flannelgraphs.
Photini preached to her whole town. Mary Magdalene saw the Resurrection first.
Paul? He had a vision, a vendetta, and a bad attitude toward women in leadership. Coincidence?
Jesus didn’t rebuke the woman at the well—he equipped her.
The only ones scandalized were the men taking notes for future “church policy.”
I’ll follow the Christ who sat with women, not the one mansplained by letters.
And if your gospel can’t handle a woman preaching it, maybe it’s not the Gospel at all. 🔥💅📿
Knocked it out of the park, AGAIN!!! I do so love your interpretation and translation of the scriptures into contemporary language and issues. Thank you. ❤️
Sharing the shit out of this. As usual. it seems after the "men" get ahold of anything they turn it into "let's control the women". Why are they so scared of us? Jealous?
Your explanation for the value of women clergy is welcomed, especially after I watch YouTube Lutheran pastors who are becoming more anti-female- they now rant about the feminization of the church. Seems like they suffer from the Idolatry of the male role in the church.
This warmed my heart since I was raised in the Southern Baptist tradition and rejected much of those teachings several years ago for being *checks notes* anti-Christ... "Lord, Lord look at what we did in your name." is not the flex they think it is. Photini was the first person to whom Jesus announced His purpose and His identity and she was incidentally a Samaritan woman, several times married and subsequently unmarried. She was at the well at high noon instead of the customary early morning hours for the sole and express purpose of avoiding people. She was shunned even among the most shunned of the shunned and yet, she is the one that Jesus revealed Himself to as the promised Messiah. That tells me all I need to know about Jesus and the value he placed on marginalized people. Then, she ran back into the village filled with the very same people who had shunned her and told them the good news of the Messiah with enough passion to get them all out to the place where Jesus was. That tells me everything I need to know about her.
"by always having the divine feminine with him in everything he did." its exactly the statement I was making to my friend Lisa the other day on why I love Bhakti and Radha Krishna path that I follow and write about here. Because it leans into both. Had Christianity just done that I would have embraced it so much more.
I love reading your posts. They inspire thoughts over the past year that honestly you sneaky bastard helps me see some Christianity in not so bad light.
