There are so many lessons we learn that at the time we didn't want to learn. Speaking of that painful time you had, a very good friend in High School did that deed on September 1, 1972. That date is burned into my memory. I learned a lot that day that I did not want to learn. I am very relieved you worked through it. And remembered it. 😔

We can break the cycle and, as you said, we can raise our children to continue to break the cycle.
