Hello from Washington State where Cordyceps militaris is alive and well and growing all over the place and being consumed (usually in powder form) to enhance ... whatever. Anyway, back to Joel and Ellie. This, what? messianic story?, makes way more sense than the New Testament convoluted story of cannibalism that, after years of unease, I finally rejected. Joel makes sense. The Temple sacrifices ended. Enough blood was shed by innocent animals; but it didn't do a thing for the propensity of humans to sin, and sin boldly, or to alleviate the misery it caused. The ultimate responsibility for atoning for sin is placed on each human. I'm revolted by the mass of people committing grievous sins happy in the knowledge that somebody else is paying the bill and "Jesus has forgiven me". That's a BFD to the people we have harmed. Let's get back to reparations, dammit. Except nobody wants to take responsibility for the consequences of their sins.

Besides all that, Pedro Pascal floats my boat.🧓

That was a good read but I'm still disappointed in Joel and still a fan of the show. Thanks for your review.

Thank you for this. I've heard people raving about the show but haven't had the energy to watch it.

She’s going to die anyway at some point, if it’s from natural causes is it still unethical to biopsy her brain for a cure at that point? I feel like this is a more practical option. Maybe get a second opinion or take the time to do a bit more research before murdering the person with natural immunity? Or like just let her have kids?

Have you read the Bible? Like all the way to the end? Because you’ve completely excluded a pretty significant portion of the testimony of Lord Jesus Christ’s work on the cross…

Also why is sacrifice or death so bad? We all die doesn’t really matter when or how… something cannot be created from nothing. That’s just reality. Sacrifice and love are the spice of life. Personally I’d rather die a warriors death than hide in a hole for several years with a man who isn’t my father, then live out the rest of life isolated in the mushroom world. Just sayin.
