You know what breaks my monkish little heart? That we still have to explain to grown adults that mistranslating a word isn’t a theological position—it’s a clerical error. And yet entire empires of shame were built on it, like spiritual MLMs peddling damnation.

Meanwhile, Jesus out here minding his own business, not saying a single word about same-sex love, but somehow the Church turned “man bed” into a death sentence and called it divine.

The real miracle isn’t the resurrection—it’s that queer folks still have faith at all after what’s been done in God's name.

Somebody pass the communion wine. I need a second cup.

Thank you so much for this essay. A couple of corrections: Kathy Baldock's friend's name is Netto, not Meadow. And David Sheldon Fearon died in January 2023, not during Pride Month. I am the person who was able to find David even though he signed the letters to Weigle using his middle name as a last name to disguise his identity.
